Elista Hosted an Exhibition about Semyon Bondarenko

A 2024 exhibition presented Semyon Bondarenko’s family photographs and postwar artifacts, recalling his role in preserving the memory of the 1946 event.

In the autumn of 2024, residents of Kalmykia saw the photo exhibition “The pious witness of the Appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ”. The exposition was dedicated to Semyon Timofeevich Bondarenko and the preservation of the memory of the 1946 event.

The announcement of the project reported on copies of photographs from the family archive of Bondarenko and objects related to the era of the 1940s. This format revealed the topic through the personal history of the person who participated in the creation of the revered image.

On the eve of the 80th anniversary, this exhibition experience remains important for educational work. Reuse of photographs and archival items is possible only with the consent of their owners and copyright holders.
