Prayers Were Offered at Kazan Cathedral for the Completion of Preparations for the 80th Anniversary of the Appearance of the Savior
During the Sunday service at Kazan Cathedral, Archbishop Justinian called for prayerful support for improvements to the cathedral grounds and restoration of Holy Cross Church.
On 16 August, Archbishop Justinian of Elista and Kalmykia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Kazan Cathedral in Elista.
After the service, the archbishop prayed before the venerated icon of the Mother of God “The Burning Bush” and addressed the faithful.
Archbishop Justinian called for prayers for the prompt completion of improvements to the cathedral grounds and the restoration of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The work forms part of preparations for the 80th anniversary celebrations of the Appearance of Christ the Savior in Elista.
He emphasized that the faithful could support the preparations not only as observers but through prayer, bearing witness together to the event that occurred in Elista in 1946.
